Collaborative Piano Policies for WCC Vocalists

Getting Started

If I have been assigned as your collaborative pianist, please send me your phone number and school email address. My WCC address is leachka@rider.eduAlternatively, I can be reached here:

Your music should be sent to me as soon as possible; since I will be using an iPad for the vast majority of my scores this year, I prefer music in a digital format (.pdf is best). It can be sent to the above email address or shared with me via Google Drive or Dropbox.

Genius Scan is a fantastic (and free!) app for your mobile device that enables you to take scans with your phone and send the files digitally in a variety of formats. Genius Scan can be downloaded here for iOS (for iPhone and iPad) or here for Android

Coaching Schedule

Coachings will be scheduled through Google Calendar. Please notify me of any lesson cancellations made by you or your teacher.

(The following information is taken from Westminster Choir College’s

official Accompanist guidelines)

University Guidelines

  • The pianist will be keeping a record of all lessons and rehearsals attended.
  • Student absences - for any reason (including illness) - will not be made up.
  • Pianists are not obligated to make up or attend the make up lesson for the lessons missed by a teacher due to illness or any other reason.
  • If the pianist comes to the lesson and the teacher decides to excuse the pianist, it will be considered as a teacher’s cancellation.
  • Any pianist cancellations must be made up. If a pianist missed a lesson, it can be made up by scheduling a 30 minutes rehearsal or going to a make up lesson.
  • In the event of a school closing, the pianist is not obligated to make up the time. However, pianists are encouraged to replace the time, as schedules permit.
